This is the hardest part of the web site for me. I’m told that I am to write about how we started and my history and my philosophy and that’s tough. I’ve lived it, but haven’t thought much about. So, for better or worse, here goes.
It all started 26 years ago with Special Looks. The flower shop for which my team and I had worked was closing. I had just purchased a new home, had a mortgage and soon was to have no job. Creativity was a must. We contacted the clients for whom we had worked for over 14 years and asked them to give us a try under a new name. Given that it was October, Special Looks was born as we undertook decorating for the Christmas holiday season. Luckily for us (and my mortgage) our flower shop customers came on board and we were off and running.
Once the holidays were over, we had to come up with a way to earn a living the other 9 months of the year. When you take down your Christmas tree and decorations, doesn’t your house looks blah and boring? Well that’s how Inside Looks was born. We offered to update, accessorize, add florals, etc and we now had a business that operated 12 months of the year. Success!!
Over the years (we began year 20 in 2017) our clients have asked us for painters, faux finishers, electricians, plumbers, furniture, lamps, artwork, etc. etc. etc. I am proud to say we are now a full-service design firm, able to offer you anything you need for your home, office, restaurant or patio.
While we offer so much more than those first early days, we have never waivered from the tried and true concept….the customer is everything. We can’t do what we do without you and you are the reason we have an enterprise. I have a sign in the office that says, “We appreciate the patronage and pledge daily to earn it.” It’s that simple.
Our clients tell us we are honest, trustworthy, pay great attention to detail and always follow thru. We are grateful for that.
When we design an environment we try to imagine the people that will live, or work or play in it. They are the client and we design a space in which they will live and thrive. While this all sounds simple, we work long and hard to insure it.
I’d ask that, if you have not been a customer as yet, you give us a try. If you have been a customer over the past years, thank-you. You honor us with this trust. But, know that there is probably a lot more to us than when we first worked for you. So, check us out again and let’s work together on your next project. Currently, remodeling is high on the list for most of our clients. Not to worry, we have lots of tradespeople on staff that will help us get the job done.
Thank you for your trust in us. Thank you for allowing me to have the best job in the world and to continue to work with amazing people. Not sure what I did to deserve it.
We are looking forward to our 26th year and the ten years after that. Who knows where we will be and how we will get there. One thing is for certain, we would like to invite you (our current customers/friends and those we have yet to meet) to come along for the journey. It promises to be the roller coaster ride of our lives.
